Privacy & Confidentiality

Voltariano is an independent contractor providing software development services, working remotely. This page explains two separate things: what happens to the details you send through an enquiry form, and how client information is handled during a project.
Who is responsible for your data
Voltariano is the trading name of an independent contractor acting as the data controller for the information described below. The controller's registered legal name and registration details are provided on request, and on every invoice — write to voltarianotechno@gmail.com.
Your data is handled outside the European Economic Area. Where you are in the EEA or the UK, you keep the rights described in section 1 regardless, and you may complain to your national data protection authority.
1. Enquiry data
When you submit the contact form, the following is recorded:
- the name and contact detail you provide, and your message;
- which page the enquiry came from, and the campaign parameters in its address, so it is clear where the enquiry originated;
- your browser's user-agent string, and your IP address. The address is kept for 14 days so that automated abuse and obviously fraudulent enquiries can be investigated, and is then erased automatically; only a one-way hash of it remains, which cannot be turned back into an address. The basis for keeping it is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of this form.
This information is used for one purpose: to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to carry out that work. It is never sold, and it is not passed to third parties for their own marketing.
You can ask at any time for a copy of what is held about you, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted. Write to voltarianotechno@gmail.com and it will be actioned.
2. Analytics
Page views and interactions such as scrolling and starting the form are counted, so it is possible to tell which pages are useful. This uses a random identifier held in your browser for the length of the visit only. It contains nothing personal, is not shared, and is not used to track you across other websites.
3. Client confidentiality
Work is carried out under whatever confidentiality terms are agreed before it starts. A non-disclosure agreement can be signed on request, and client terms are accepted where they are reasonable.
Working with or without access to your data.
Access to real business data is not required for most work, and the default is to avoid it. Development and testing can be done against anonymised extracts, synthetic records, or a redacted sample you prepare — structure is what matters, not the contents. Where a task genuinely needs access to live or sensitive data, that is agreed explicitly in advance, limited to what the task requires, and ends when the task does.
4. How information is protected
- Devices are encrypted at rest and access is protected by strong, individually generated credentials with two-factor authentication where the service supports it.
- Client material is kept separate per client and is not mixed between engagements.
- Credentials are never requested when an export will do. Where access is unavoidable, prefer accounts scoped to the task that you can revoke.
- Material is deleted on request, and on completion is either returned, deleted, or retained only for the period agreed with you.
- Client code and data are not used to train machine-learning models, and are not pasted into third-party tools without your agreement.
No arrangement removes all risk. What is offered here is a defined, minimal-access way of working — not a guarantee that nothing can go wrong.
5. Subcontractors
Work is delivered personally. If a project ever needs another specialist, you are told before that happens and they are bound by the same confidentiality terms.
6. Questions
Anything about this page, or a specific requirement your organisation needs covered before work begins, goes to voltarianotechno@gmail.com.
